LCBSA is Partnering with "HELPING KIDS ROUND FIRST"

*****Used baseball and softball equipment needed to help underpriveledged kids****

LCBSA is partnering with the charity Helping Kids Round First to collect used baseball and softball equipment (including all those old baseball bats that are not legal for League play anymore) and shoes.

You can learn more about HKRF here

Our first collection event at the January Player Evaluation was a big success.

Our next League-wide collection event will be on April 14 for LCBSA Picture Day.

In the meantime, feel free to drop off your donations at Charlie’s La Canada Union 76 (1540 Foothill Blvd, corner of Alta Canyada Road & Foothill Blvd ).  Ask for Charlie Kamar, proprietor and long-time supporter of LCBSA!

New youth bat regulations will be in place for the 2018 LCBSA Season that is MANDATED by the NATIONAL PONY ASSOCIATION. Bats that were utilized in prior seasons (with the exception of BBCOR -3 bats) WILL NO LONGER BE LEGAL for LCBSA and Pony games. You can find more information here:

Concussion Protocol and Information Sheet

In accordance with AB 2007, a new California state law that went into effect January 1, 2017.  Youth sports organizations, such as LCBSA, are required to adopt a concussion protocol, train board members and coaches, and provide information to athletes and parents about the signs and symptoms of concussions and what to do if a concussion is suspected.  We need each LCBSA player to have the Parent & Athlete Concussion Information Sheet (second page) signed by their parent or guardian, and give it to your player's coach as soon as possible.

Parent and Athlete Information Sheet

If you would like to view the concussion training that the board members and coaches are all required to take, you are welcome to access it here:

Concussions - California Interscholastic Federation.

Keep in mind that the training was developed for high school student-athletes, so it states that "adolescents are at highest risk." In fact, children are at even higher risk than adolescents because their brains are in a more vulnerable stage of development.
